Our first LIVE event in Madison is coming on Friday, September 16.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 IS NATIONAL POW-MIA RECOGNITION DAY. In honor of this day and in honor of this country’s 82,000 MIA service members, the UW MIA Recovery and Identification Project is proud to present COMING HOME: A LIVE Concert for Our Missing Heroes.
The event will bring together local bands Frank Martin Busch and the Names, Jackie Marie and the Band, and Marcy and the Highlights for a night of music, awareness, raffles, and fun in support of the UW MIA Project’s mission. There will also be presentations by National VFW Vice Commander, Al Lipphardt, and State of Wisconsin VFW Commander, Michele Rathke, Major General (Ret.) Tim Zadalis, and Team Lead for the UW MIA Project, Charles Konsitzke.
The event will be held at VFW Post 7591 (301 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716) from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Come at 5:00 PM for Friday Fish Fry and stay for the music! The evening will start with Jackie Marie and the Band from 6:00-6:45 PM followed by Marcy and the Highlights from 7:00-7:45 PM and our headliner, Frank Martin Busch and the Names from 8:00-8:45 PM.
The VFW Post will be hosting a raffle to benefit the UW MIA Project that includes two incredible raffle prizes: A DOWNTOWN MADISON STAYCATION (with a night stay at the Graduate Madison Hotel, dinner at The Coopers Tavern and breakfast at Marigold Kitchen) and A TASTE OF MADISON (featuring the best of Madison’s many restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops). Tickets are available at VFW Post 7591 on the day of the event and will be sold individually for $10 each, in packs of 5 for $45 ($9 each), or 10 for $80 ($8 each).
