Welcome ANDY! Highlights New Guitar Player!

And what a gAndy Yaunuitar player he is! A native of Monticello, Andy is seventeen years old and ready to play! Between him and David, the other 17 year old in the group, the average age of the band has plummeted! Among the countless things Andy has already accomplished, he is collecting his second MAMA (Madison Area Music Awards) for Student of the Year! He’s sat in with numerous other bands such as The Jimmy’s, The Greg Anderson Band, and many others! We are truly ecstatic he found a home as a Highlight. Hope you can come out and see him soon at upcoming gigs which you can find in the “Shows” tab above on our website! Thank you and make today a highlight!

Lake Mills Dance Club “Springs” into Dancing!

 

It could have been rough going…..

With Saturday one of the first glorious spring days in Madison, reports of raking, garage cleaning, hauling, bagging and more were widespread as we started the evening.  All that fresh air and moving parts that have been “stored” over the winter can make for a challenge to get the dance feet moving.  But the good folks of the Lake Mills Dance Club are a determined bunch!  After enjoying a delicious meal, serenaded by the Highlights with singer, Marcy, right out by the tables, the group jumped into some dancing.  First request – Proud Mary  – launched a fast set with only a few slow turns and waltzes for this bunch!  Bring on the swing and rock n roll!

Happy raking!  Happier DANCING!!

Top of the Town TOPS!

The Top of the Town dancers out of Beloit, Wisconsin know how to have a dance!

They begin at 6:30 pm dancing even BEFORE dinner.  They dance right through the salads and only take a short break to enjoy the main course.

The Highlights basically got into no good, led by Randy, at the bar during the break.  But we were all back to action with great tunes, terrific dancers and a really nice venue for a dance!  We looBDC20150321_ signBDC20150321_I didn't do itk forward to being back with you next year!
